We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday (and Thursday) since Rich works on Sunday. We had a great home cooked breakfast, and then did the 2 things Rich wanted to do for Father's Day. 1. Eat Watermelon, and 2. swim. Before heading out to the pool, the kids presented Rich with his gifts. The shirt he is wearing in the picture was Jaxon's gift to him, made at school with his picture and hand prints on it. Rich sported that shirt all day. He also got the standard coffee mug with the kids picture, And then, the big Kahuna from Alicyn. She spent Father's Day week in a camp called YogaDoodle. During camp they learned yoga but also did tons of small arts and crafts projects. She drew, colored and matted the picture Rich is holding of a bird. She was very detailed in her design and clearly spent a good deal of time making it perfect. In the top corner there is a sun, with DAD written under it. Its beautiful! When I saw it, I knew it had to have a frame. When Alicyn gave Rich the framed artwork she said, "you see that sun up there daddy, its for you because you are the sun that shines down on me". Rich and I both had tears rolling down our faces. She was sincere and meant every word of that. Completely unprompted. Amazing. Rich gave her the biggest hug, and told her it was the best gift he had ever gotten. And now its hanging on his side of the bed in our room. Alicyn has her moments of sassy, but this girl has a HUGE heart. And she loves her daddy like no other.
Happy Father's Day Daddy!
