Living Museum - Robert Ballard

All the 2nd graders had to complete a project about a famous American. They did research in class and created a speech to give during the presentation. The entire cafe at school was filled with all kinds of different famous people, each child had a red dot, when the dot was pushed the kids would tell you about themselves. The living museum was pretty cool, there were kids with great costumes, and all kinds of different people (many of which I learned from since I skipped most of my history classes - sorry mom and dad its that kind of night). Alicyn chose to be Robert Ballard, if you are like me you are wondering who in the world that is. Well, I will attempt to attach a video of her speech but in case that doesn't work I will just tell you... he was the man who discovered the Titanic. Alicyn has these fascination with the Titanic right now, she is reading all kinds of books about it, and is totally pumped about the remake of the original movie (no, she hasn't seen it yet) that is coming out in 3D. I know she is only 8 but she really wants to see it so we will prob just let her, its PG13 but I figure Grey's Anatomy is worse and she watches that so why not. Imagine us trying to figure out how to dress like this normal looking guy that likes to look for stuff in the ocean. He just wears a vest and a ball cap, so thats what we did. The Justin & Selena posters in her room now have a Titanic poster next to them :) I'm telling you she is all about the Titanic, and randomly tells us facts about it.
Alicyn reciting from memory her speech about Robert Ballard. Her class was the best at reciting from memory! They all did a wonderful job at picking out the 3 coolest facts to talk about.
