Livin on Tulsa Time

We spent Memorial Day Weekend in Tulsa. The trip was planned as a car show/regional Falcon convention and bonus is that Rich's brother and family live there! Perfect opportunity to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. We headed out on Thursday around 4 for the long 8 hour drive to Tulsa. It seemed to take us 100 hours. Alicyn and Jaxon both complained pretty much non stop until just past Dallas. "My butt's asleep" was Alicyn's favorite saying, followed by "my headphones teep falling offf daddy" by Jaxon. Finally just on the north side of Dallas, we stopped to get food, and mandated that there would be NO MORE STOPS until Tulsa. Thankfully JT fell asleep, and Alicyn somehow managed to get somewhat comfortable and slept a little. We arrived at 1am. Our hotel was the host hotel for the convention, so we could see the falcon's park in a nice lot from our window. We hit the hay and spent Friday hanging at the hotel waiting for Jim & Marianne to get off work. Oh, almost forgot as we pulled into the hotel, our truck began making the most awful sound you could imagine, it sounded like the brakes were gone and metal on metal grinding. So actually we were pretty much stuck at the hotel waiting on the truck to be repaired at the local Toyota dealer. Sheeh, ended up being bearing issue. Anyway, we went to Jim and Marianne's for dinner. Got to meet Erika's boyfriend, and the kids played out in the back on their playscape while we talked shop on the patio. The weather was perfect.

JT and Uncle Jimmy playing hockey

On Saturday morning, Jimmy took us to his work for the America Airlines carnival. I am not a huge carnival fan since they take those rides apart and back together every other day but Jimmy convinced me that they had full inspections. And since he is an airplane mechanic, I trusted his judgement. The kids had a blast! It was all free too which was an added bonus. Food, rides, Popsicles, games...Awesome.

Super slide with daddy!

Tilt-o-whirl, also known as tilt-o-hurl.

Just a swingin'

"I gonna shoot you daddy!"

The fastest merry go round ever. That thing was flying.

Ella & Alicyn

Clearly not riding the way he was supposed to be.

Roller coaster!

Another go at the tilt-o-whirl

hi guys!

And last but certainly not least, Uncle Jimmy in rare form. He got tired of holding Ella's sucker so he stored it for her in his belly button! Grossssss! (and no, don't panic, she didn't eat it after that :))
