Rule #1 - you must read this in your best British accent.
I have officially made it across the pond. The flight was long, I didn't sleep a wink, but I did enjoy the Blind Side, It's complicated and lots of games on the headrest. The poor lady in front of me likely did not since I was touching that screen through the whole flight. We had to go all the way over Greenland which just seems way out of the way. The flight took over an hour more than planned, but we made it safely and that's all that matters. A nice man switched seats with Rich so he could sit by me, otherwise I would have been a mess. We landed at about 9am, after leaving home at 12 noon, long day for sure, and I had to go to the office. By the end of day 1 (which was really day 2), I was nodding office at the conference room table. I can't get over the fact that they drive on the wrong side of the road, and have refused to ride in the front seat of my coworkers cars cause I swear, it always looks like someone is going to hit you head on. I have been to several pubs, ate some pie, jacket potato, brie (YUMMMMY), mussels (OK, just kidding, I didn't go that far, but I did dip the bread in the mussel cream sauce!) Tonight we ate Indian food, my coworker Dipti has been begging me to eat it for MONTHS, its not that I was afraid or anything, I have had it before, but I don't see what all the hype is about. Its just not that good. Everyone raved, we ate it and it was OJ but nothing to write home about (although I am writing home about it now). Now I can check that box and never have to worry about it again. We have not been into Central London, but are staying there this weekend so we will get there. The Dell office is in Bracknell, about 45 minutes away. We did make our way to Windsor last night, the castle is freaking HUGE! I had no idea. And I have to admit, the non-historian in my thought it was pretty cool. We spent a few minutes talking to a police officer, who I am certain thought we (me, Rich, Jess & Dipti) were dumb Americans. We walked along the river, and the outside of the castle, and rode a Ferris wheel. There is major stuff happening over here with the Government, I don't have a clue what it all means but to know that the prime minister has stepped down and there is a new sheriff in town. The officer told us that the Queen would be in Windsor today, Rich took a train to Windsor and did a tour, but didn't see the Queen. LOL. I worked. That's all I have for now, here are some pictures from our evening in Windsor, i will let Rich tell all about his Windsor adventure without me.
PS - the Casablanca portion of the trip is cancelled, the ash had the airport there closed so we have decided to continue the meeting in Bracknell. We will still be getting home on Thusday night, and connecting through Paris. We will take the fast train over that morning....I miss my kids so bad!!!! I am sucking it up while I am here but I am not happy about this stupid trip.
