Recital & Reverse

Yesterday during dress rehearsal we learned (well Rich really, I was too busy changing costumes) that there was no way in hell that Jaxon would make it through the recital. While he did good at rehearsal, we know not to push our luck. So, I asked my dad to watch him. It took some consideration but allowed him to be able to stay home with his BFF Bob Bass, and miss the 3 hours of dancing. We dropped JT off, all was fine, mom was still there. I asked her to change his diaper before she headed to the show since we all know that my dad has never changed a diaper in his life.

We arrived at the Round Rock PAC on time, got all the primping done with time to spare before it all began. Alicyn looked great, she was so excited about wearing makeup and having her hair straightened. All the dancers did great, the littlest ones crack me up, most are doing their own thing. Alicyn knew her dances pretty well. I think she knew them very well actually but felt like she needed to look at the instructors for some reason. She looked so stinkin' cute. Anyway, I survived the first real recital with costume changes and hair changes, and tights changes, good lord. Now I know first hand what the other dance moms complain about. But we did it all and it was great. No costume malfunctions on my watch!

Afterwards we had some Chica Boom Boom at Chuy's and visited the newest cousin the family Mr. Jack Reilly. Katy had him this morning at 2 something am. He is adorable. Jaxon was so loud and so wild at the hospital, it lasted about 15 mins. Jaxon just calls him "Ambee baby bradur".

Both kids feel asleep on the way home, I carried Jaxon in and went to change his diaper for bed, I thought I would pee in my pants when I realized that my dear old dad had put his diaper on BACKWARDS. I guess if you have never changed a diaper before, its a good college try. How did he even accomplish that though. Lord. Have no fear, he will NEVER live this one down.
