Cherish every minute

I decided, after learning the terrible news about a friend losing their son, that it was time to start the McGovern's blog. I have become a blog follower over the last few years, but never really knew what to say. I now see why these blogs are such a great way to communicate with your loved ones. Sometimes I get caught up in the day to day activities and forget to share the little things about our family. So....starting today I am a blogger.

Alicyn had a dentist appointment today, she absolutely loves the dentist (well any doctor). Today she went for a cleaning and for x-rays. X-rays didn't go so well, not that Ali got upset or anything, she just was not doing a great job at biting on that little thing that was gagging her. They tried several times and decided next time was just fine :). Of course, she chose the cookie dough toothpaste, and got a 2 on the clean scale which is FABULOUS! Several of her teeth are loose, so they have her a tiny little treasure box for her tooth when it comes out. Dr. Watts said she should wiggle away, even on the top one that I was worried about. We decided to let Alicyn stay out of school for the rest of the day since she had a weekend getaway planned with Grandma, GG and the girls. They are all in a hotel swimming and playing games tonight and tomorrow. They are just in Waco, but when Rich asked her what state she was in she said "Wyoming". Not sure where that come from but we giggled.

Jaxon had a good day at school, he is about to move up to the toddlers class, so he spent lots of time with the "big kids" today. He seems to be adjusting well so far, the official move day is Wed of next week so we will see how it goes at drop off, that's the true test. After school, we ran over to the restaurant supply store to get some paper chef hats. Rich will be visiting Ali's class next week as a community helper, so we got a hat for each of the kids. Jaxon wanted to wear one too. Tonight, we visited Trish & Jakey, and then made it for the last period of Dad's hockey game. JT loves it, he talks and points the whole time. And as soon as daddy comes off the ice, he is grabbing for his hockey stick. I know Rich is proud to see his little man following in his footsteps where hockey is concerned. Jax has a few new words over the last 2 days. Ice, and uh oh. So cute to see his verbal skills develop.

Today has been tough on Rich and I. Our hearts are broken for the Turpin's. We have no words to express our sorrow for them. I don't know that I could function in their situation. Rich dedicated his game to little Jack, and scored a goal for him. RIP Jack, I know the angels are celebrating your arrival.

  2. Go to layout, then choose add a picture and you should be able to add a pic for yourself with description. Then go back to layout, add a pic for Rich, Ali and Jack. You should all appear on the sidebar. I am no pro at this...I learn by trial and error everytime I add or change anything! ha Let me know if this works.
