In an effort to "back blog", I wanted to share a picture from last Wednesday Sept 23. Alicyn's class started the community helper segment. Mrs. Farque asked for parents or friends of parents to come talk to the class and share what they do every day to help our community. The goal was to get a nurse/doctor, builder, a police officer, a firefighter & a chef. Rich will be taking care of the chef part this coming week, I will be sure to get some pics. Alicyn sweet talked her "uncle Don" into coming since he is a police officer for Travis County Sheriff's Department. Don brought tons of goodies for the kids and talked to them about the importance of not talking to strangers. When we asked what tools he brought to show them, she said "pecker spray, bullets, but he tries not to ever use them, and his radio." So funny!!!
Don adores Alicyn, I am not sure there is anything he would not do for her. We are so thankful he was able to make time to do this.
What day will Rich be at the school? I have to be there for those chef hats! Too cute! Bailey kept telling me Ali's dad was a policeman....so funny!
ReplyDeleteRich will be there on Tuesday, but the time is still TBD based on when he gets off work. We are shooting for 1:30-2:00.
