Practicing for the "Big" day

Saturday's are usually our lazy day and family breakfast. Laura gets to sleep in a little (noise permitting) and Alicyn and I make Mikey Mouse pancakes (with a waffle pan) while Jaxon is trying to "help" crack the eggs and say Bak-n (bacon) a 100 times or so.

Unfortunately I had to work due to another guy wanting the day off, so the whole day was out of wack!! The good thing was that I got off around 2 and thankfully there was a party going on at GG's house for Debbie's Birthday at 4 with swimming and food of course. Laura and the kids met me at home and Laura wanted to take a nap since she was still recovering from her "jet-lag" work schedule during the week and the kids had already had a little nap so it was Daddy duty time.

Alicyn had a great idea to make some pudding for the party. Vanilla pudding is easy to make thanks to that JELL-O company. That just wasn't enough so we had to add peanut butter chips and chocolate chip chunks. It was cute because we made a face with 'em and it made the party a success. Thanks Ali.

Meanwhile, Jaxon needed something to do and I started asking him what toys he wanted for his birthday since the big 2 is approaching. Hockey sticks? "Jess" (yes), Tractor? "jess", Candy? Jess, A new chicken? "Jess". He'll say yes to just about anything....He found so candles he would not let go of so to try to get them back I asked him if he wanted to practice the Birthday song? This he knows, his own version of course, but more than less, he's got it.We practice just once and I said to myself, man I need to get the camera...and history is made. Didn't have any cake handy, but what was close...watermelon, so that was the birthday cake in case you are wondering.

If you have not realized, the picture above is a video so please click it and view.

We can't wait for the party, Jaxon has already been telling all of his teachers at school about it...:)
