10 for 10!!!!

Alicyn had a HUGE accomplishment today at school. Here first ever 10 for 10 challenge word spelling test!

Every Monday, the kids get a pretest on the normal 1st grade words. There are words like pig, fig, dig...you get the point. Super easy word family words. Well if they get them all right on the pretest, they get the challenge words for the real test on Friday. The challenge words are much more challenging. I am not sure if I have blogged about them or not cause its all running together but trust me they are harder. Seriously, I can't spell porcupine now much less at 6. Anyway the challenge words this week were

Frog (has to be capitalized to count as correct)
sloppy
shop
spot
plot
doghouse
carhop
nothing
lollipop
hotter

We practiced like crazy, and boy did it pay off! When we picked Alicyn up on Friday, we were both dying to know how she did, she pulled out the test and YIPPIE, 10 FOR 10!!! She was soooo excited! She got to go pick out a toy, she chose a Fashion Designer DS game. So proud!
