Jaxon's First Airplane ride

Jaxon's first airplane ride was everything he dreamed of and more. I thought that getting up so early would mean that he would sleep through the check in process, nit not so much. We left the house at 4something am, which is way to fang early for anyone. Especially when it means that Jaxon is talking 100 miles an hour cause he is oh so excited. We did curb side check in, which took FOREVER! and then headed to the gate. The security process was uneventful, but he didn't quite understand why we all had to take our shoes off. I carried him through the x-ray scanner, no pat downs or craziness to report. We waited patiently (or not) to board. Rich took him down a few gates to check out the planes that were boarding. He asked at least 40 times "is that our plane daddy". As our plane pulled into the gate, you could see the excitement build, and boy were we happy to be able to finally answer with "yes, that's our plane". Since we needed a car seat in Denver, we thought we would just carry it on and have JT sit in it so he could see better out the window or secretly it was to keep him more contained :). That worked well for the first hour....then he started getting restless. He was never bad, just busy. He thought the fact that they served snacks and juice was the coolest thing ever. At one point he said he needed to go potty but didn't realize there was a potty on the plane. He said "are we gonna stop so I can go potty?". Once he had gotten out of the seat it was all over. We talked him into getting back in his seat just in time to land in Denver.

For the trip back, we checked the carseat and he sat like a big boy in the real seat. He was petty impressed that he could do it. The seat belt was quite entertaining. He actually slept about an hour on the ride back but had a terrible time with his ears. He cried so hard, not a single thing we tried helped. Poor buddy.

First flight is in the books.
