Thanksgiving Play

Pilgrim boy & girls, Indian Men & women, and a gaggle of turkey's filled the bleachers in the Teravista cafeteria for the Thanksgiving Play on Monday. Alicyn was a Pilgrim, her line in the program (along with the rest of the Pilgrim women was "Mercy Me". One of the kinder teachers read a story, and each time she said the name of the group, the kids said their line. After the play we had a feast. The kids made cornbread, homemade butter, and snapped fresh green beans. Rich was gracious enough to volunteer to cook the turkey (thank goodness cause the other classroom just had turkey sandwich meat), and the rest of the parents signed up for the extras. Mrs. Farque wanted them to get a taste of a real Thanksgiving feast, and they did! We have a great set of parents in the room, I think the others classes were jealous :). The "feast" was the end of the whole Thanksgiving lesson. Ali learned tons about the Pilgrims, Indians, Plymouth rock, mayflower, and why we celebrate Thanksgiving.

Tonight, as I typed this she said "I am not thankful for shots, but I am thankful that God died for us" So sweet.

Here are the shots from the play. Let me say that this is the first time I had used the camera and well, I don't have a clue how to use it. So I was thankful that I even got any pictures.

And then, a picture that Andrea took, notice the difference? She actually knows how to work her camera :) Thanks Andrea.
