Tonight was Alicyn's first ever softball game at Balcones Optimist. The team name is the Red Hots, they all look so cute in their uniforms. The girls are all really good batters, not great at the fielding yet but several of them have good arms. We laughed a lot tonight, this age is so fun to watch. They do silly things like playing in the dirt, throwing the ball backwards, and running to hug the coach after a good play. The helmets are so big on those little girls head, its hard to even see where they are going...I love it!
Alicyn (#12) played 1st base, 3rd base, and right field tonight. She did great on 1st, even though her teammates were not throwing to her, but she did fabulous on 3rd base. There were 2 outs, and bases loaded, a left handed batter comes up. Rich yells "be ready Ali its coming to you!", and sure enough, line drive right to her. She grabbed the ball and ran to third to make the final out of the inning! It was awesome! Our little softball girl also had 3 great hits in the game and got on base every time!!! Check out this hit, I think the bat may have hit the other teams coach..oops.
Way to go Ali, we are so proud of you.
Jaxon spent the evening saying "hat", and "uuuuh" (this is what he does when he doesn't know the word he wants to say). He wanted to wear her batting helmet and hold her bat, and could not figure out why he wasn't allowed to get to the other side of the fence to get it.
