Field Trip Numero Uno for Alicyn is in the books. Alicyn has officially been on her first field trip, the entire kindergarten class (200+ 5-6 year olds, are you picturing this people?), went to Zilker for lunch, and to the Paramount Theater. They watched a puppet show of Goodnight moon, one of the best kids books ever. Apparently there was a sold out crowd (who knew) but they had a blast. Can you imagine taking that many kids on a field trip? Holy cow, I am glad teachers have the gift. I found myself a bit a wreck this morning. I was planning on joining her on her first ever field trip, but after being off all last week, I couldn't justify it. So I realized as Andrea called me this morning that I had bitten 3 of the 5 fingernails off my right hand after I dropped her off and hit the toll road. I don't even have fingernails to bite! The whole 200 kids running like crazy people and not enough adults to really watch them all every minute, and riding with some stranger bus driver on a goofy yellow school bus all the way downtown. Thankfully, Andrea was attending, and told me that Alicyn was in Mrs. Farque's group. I trust her, its the other people in the world that freak me out. Anyway, I was so busy at work that I forgot to text for an update but good ole Andrea didn't, she sent me updates throughout the day. It was almost like I was there. And she even took some pictures of the event. I will load them, but I don't have them yet. Alicyn talked about the bus ride, and how long of a ride it was all the way downtown, told me who she sat by, about the puppeteers, etc. She was so proud of her first field trip!
