I know you have all been on the edge of your seat waiting on the backyard update, so here you go. It's not complete.
But, it is looking fabulous! Rich has worked his butt off, literally. He has lost 10 lbs. We have had some setbacks due to the rain but are so close we can taste it. 9 of the 11 pallets are laid, and watering has begun. The east side of the yard is not complete. That's the mud pit. A big mud pit. It rained on Wednesday, on Friday Rich used the shopvac and sucked up over 100 gallons of water!!! That's after it dried all day Thursday and a trough was made to make it run off. 100 gallons! That is just insane to me. So now you see why it’s called the mud pit. The rest of the yard looks like a golf course (well at least from afar). If you get up close, it looks like 9 pallets of grass that has been there a little more than a week. We were a little worried about it looking bumpy, which it does a bit, but the more we water, the flatter it gets. I was panicking about the grass dying since its been sitting on the driveway since the 20th, but believe it or not it’s not. The rain has actually helped the sitting grass :). And now that 9 are down, I am feeling mucho better about the $1200+ investment we made on that silly grass. Last week I would have bet you almost anything that we had way too much grass, today though, I am convinced we need more. We will not be ordering it though until we are 100% sure that it is ready to be laid. We have a huge backyard. I knew it was big don't you don't realize just how big til you cover it in little rectangles.
