Today was demolition day for the backyard. Our kind neighbors Rouel & Billy have been helping us with the backyard project. Today was the day the bobcat came and they have been moving dirt, or should I say mud all day long. We started with a backyard full of weeds and a terrible drainage issue, now we have a mud pit. I know that eventually it will be ok, but right now its truly a mud pit. The plan is to sculpt the dirt so that the water doesn't ever get near the house to the point of entry. Tomorrow we will be tilling and raking to make sure that there are not huge mounds of dirt and tire tracks. We have 11 pallets of grass slated to arrive tomorrow too. Not sure we will even get started on that until Sat, heck we might be just finding some day labor and calling it done. Rich is liable to kill himself trying to get it all the rest done.
Thank God for neighbors, I just wish we had Sam & Nancy to join in on the fun. Heck Sam would still be out there working with the flood lights :)
